Choosing a Skilled Plastic Surgeon To Perform Breast Augmentation, Liposuction, Tummy Tuck, Facial Plastic Surgery or any Cosmetic Surgery Procedure is Imperative. Board Certified Plastic Surgeon In Raleigh North Carolina Provides Guidelines. Raleigh Plastic Surgeon Dr. Michael Law, board certified in plastic surgery provides guidelines for choosing a qualified plastic surgeon to perform cosmetic plastic surgery.

An individual can begin learning about a physician before ever meeting him or her. Start by visiting the American Society of Plastic Surgery web site at www.plasticsurgery.org. This will allow you to find board certified plastic surgeons in your area.

Before meeting a physician, you can learn a lot by visiting the office. A good plastic surgery web site will provide information about plastic surgery and the surgeon’s experience and credentials. A web site should also provide the surgeon’s philosophy on aesthetic surgery and patient care. The office environment can give you insight into a physician’s aesthetic ideal. Is the office elegant, beautiful, contemporary and immaculately clean? Or are the furnishings outdated, mismatched or cramped? The attention to detail in a waiting area and other areas of the office can be representative of the way a physician looks at the world. Another thing to look at is the office staff. In many offices, staff members are warm and natural looking. In other cases staff members can appear to have very obvious unnatural looking plastic surgery. Staff members with large obvious breast implants not in proportion with the rest of the body, inflated unnatural looking lips, or eyebrows lifted to a position where they appear to be perpetually surprised can also provide insight to the physician’s aesthetic ideal.

Before and After Photos – An experienced plastic surgeon will have before and after photographs of the specific procedure you have in mind. Professional looking before and after photos with consistent lighting and consistent patient position is imperative. Before photos showing patients frowning and wearing no makeup, followed by an after photo of a smiling, made up patient with a new hairstyle is not a good representation of a surgical before and after. Likewise, a before photo showing the patient’s midsection with arms down by the hips or straight out to the side followed by an after photo with arms lifted in the air is not an appropriate representation of a surgical before and after photo.

Patient privacy is imperative, but in every practice there are some patients who are happy to share their experiences with others considering the same procedure. An experienced surgeon with satisfied patients should have many before and after photos and also patients who can share their surgical experience first hand.

http://www.cosmeticsurgery-news.com

Organization(press release from EMediaWire)
Natural looking full lips and elimination of wrinkles safely, painlessly and permanently with no allergy test. Performed by Michael Law, MD, board-certified plastic surgeon in Raleigh, NC.

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) February 2, 2004 — Dr. Michael Law is one of the few physicians in the country successfully performing autologous fat transfer. The procedure uses a patients’ own fat, carefully injected droplet by droplet by a skilled plastic surgeon. This technique will allow the fat to develop its’ own blood supply, which is why the result is permanent.

Extensive training is required to master this technique, and specialized equipment must be used. It is the ONLY safe and permanent method for augmenting the lips. The results are very natural looking and can add a youthful fullness to any area of the face. A long-lasting, but temporary result can be achieved using large particle no-test pure collagen.

Dr. Michael Law has moved his Beverly Hills cosmetic surgery practice back to his hometown of Raleigh, NC. “I have always loved Raleigh” says Dr. Law, “now that I have a family of my own, I wanted them to be here. I want my son to experience all the wonderful things I experienced growing up here. I miss my cosmetic surgery practice and patients from Beverly Hills, but it is wonderful to be back home.”

Dr. Law can provide information on all materials used for lip augmentation and wrinkle elimination including Restylane, Perlane, Artecoll, Radiance, cosmoderm 1, No-test collagen, and others. Dr. Law will only use materials that are proven to be safe and effective.

Mini-Makeovers without the Knife

Raleigh and Cary Plastic Surgery and Botox

Mini-Makeovers without the Knife
By Angela Hampton

If you’d like to look younger, but aren’t ready for an “extreme makeover,” you now have more options than ever – from botox injections to new lasers that erase imperfections. Now we look at mini-makeovers with major results.

Blue Water Spa
Michael Law, MD Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Last year alone, more than 5 million non-surgical cosmetic procedures were performed in the U.S. People who want to look refreshed without a facelift are opting for smaller treatments that are safer and more effective than ever before.

Forty-something, Sandy Ratte is ready to reverse some signs of aging, but she doesn’t want plastic surgery. So, she’s come to Blue Water Spa in Raleigh for less invasive treatments. “That is what has appealed to me… that I don’t have to go into surgery, I’m not going to be put under, I don’t have to worry about stitches or anything like that. A few days and I’m gonna look refreshed, I’m all for it.”

Aesthetic plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Law says more and more of his clients want to take “beauty” baby steps. “Formally, patients would typically have plastic surgery or not, and now there are a number or less invasive and some non invasive measures that can really make a big difference.”

Sandy’s sun damage treated and spider veins with what’s called a “V-beam” laser. “The veins just disappear, really before your eyes.”

Medical microderm abrasion exfoliates the face, removing dead skin cells so anti-aging treatments, like a facial peel made with Vitamin C and Green Tea can better penetrate the skin.

“Photo-modulation” is a new treatment. The light stimulates collagen and elastin production and shrinks pores. To soften fine lines around her forehead and eyes, Sandy gets botox – the most popular cosmetic procedure available, and finally, collagen injections for fuller lips.

So how much of a difference can a mini-makeover make?

Sandy is thrilled! “If anybody is ready to get a little youth back, I totally recommend collagen and botox.” And Dr. Law says the other treatments left Sandy’s face smoother and clearer.

Believe it or not, she’s not wearing foundation. She’s showing her skin and Sandy says she’s almost overwhelmed. “I can’t even put into words really how I feel. It’s that good. I feel that good.”

Altogether, Sandy’s treatments cost just under $1000, and she’ll need another round of botox and collagen in several months. But she says these treatments were much easier and cheaper than plastic surgery.

The Big News in Breast Implants is Small

Raleigh Breast Enhancement and Augmentation

Demand for Breast Enhancement Increases as Size of Implants Decrease According to Dr. Michael Law, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC – June 16, 2004 — Breast implants for cosmetic breast augmentation first became available in the 1960’s and rapidly gained popularity in the 1970’s. By the 1980’s breast augmentation was the second most popular plastic surgery (after liposuction), and the motto seemed to be the bigger the better. The oversized implants seen everywhere in the popular media in the 80’s and 90’s clearly served to alter the public’s perception of what breasts are supposed to look like: large, taut and high. The kind of breasts that formerly appeared only in cartoons.

Today, breast augmentation is more popular than ever. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 254,140 breast augmentation surgeries were performed in 2003. This is a 7 percent increase from 2002 and a 20 percent increase from 2000. But reason is beginning to prevail again, and patients and the public are rediscovering the fact that the aesthetic ideal for the female breast is soft, supple, much fuller in the lower than the upper pole, and in proportion to the rest of a woman’s figure.

Patient demographics are changing, too. Women in their 30’s and 40’s (especially moms) are the fastest growing group of patients seeking breast augmentation today. These are women who have lost breast volume following pregnancy and lactation, and who simply seek to restore a natural, more youthful breast contour. They don’t want to look like they’ve had breast enhancement surgery; they instead wish to fill out clothing better and feel more comfortable out of clothing. Even women who have not had children are opting for smaller, more realistic appearing breast augmentation. Professional women (including physicians!) want to look their best, but they don’t want to look done.

It is very common in my practice to perform a breast enhancement that changes the breast profile from an A cup to a B cup, says Dr. Michael Law, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Raleigh, NC, formerly of Beverly Hills. I rarely have patients requesting large implants anymore, although there are still a few who express a desire for that busty, done look. I counsel those patients that it is certainly possible to achieve that look, if it is truly what they want, but that I simply won’t perform any aesthetic surgery that doesn’t look natural. A woman with very large breast implants that doesn’t match her frame looks like a cartoon character, and that is not my aesthetic ideal. And these patients never have any problem finding someone who will give them the look that they want.

Potential breast augmentation patients should also give serious thought to the following consideration: one great advantage of a conservative breast enhancement is that small implants are much more likely to feel natural. It is possible to provide a breast enhancement that is soft, supple and even undetectable (by touching) with a small implant, something that is never achieved with very large breast implants.

One of my most recent breast enhancement patients (another doctor) had the following to say at her three-week follow-up appointment: If I hadn’t written a check to pay for them, Dr. Law, I wouldn’t know they’re not really mine.

From Facials to Facelifts: Are Spas the Environment

http://www.plasticsurgery.org/psf

Raleigh Plastic Surgery OrganizationFrom the May 2004 issue of Plastic Surgery News, the official publication of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. Four medical spas across the country were profiled. Beverly Hills, New York City, Miami and Raleigh.

And, many patients are not ready for the commitment or cost of major plastic surgery. Less-drastic treatments appeal to a greater population. “A lot of times, people aren’t ready for surgery. But we always have something else we can provide for rejuvenation. There is no real commitment to saying, ‘I’ll come in a get a facial,'” Law says.

Blue Water Plastic Surgery credits the success of Blue Water Spa with having a plastic surgeon on staff to guide all treatment options. “We didn’t initially promote the medical spa concept, because I didn’t know how the community would react. We just promoted it as a ‘spa,’ ” she says. Now, she fully believes in promoting the clinical side. “I was worried that people would think that if it is medical and clinical, it would not be welcoming. But actually the more savvy clients are glad it’s medically related.”

Dr. Law started his plastic surgery practice in Beverly Hills and returned to his hometown of Raleigh to raise a family. Dr. Law has a two- to three-month waiting period for plastic surgery, and out of 30 consults, 25 choose some type of treatment, whether non-invasive or surgical.
